WE’RE BACK!!!
After quite a hiatus during a very trying time in my life, Nine Point Publishing is in the process of publishing two books and the next issue of Omphalos. All three will be released within the next two months and I hope you all find the publications compelling and worth buying.
Omphalos 12 will feature several writers, some familiar to Omphalos and some not. The featured artist in Omphalos 12 will be Jody Fallon from central Pennsylvania.
Like a Warped Mirror, by James Day Leavitt, is currently about to be rolled through Dunstan Press‘s 1950′s Heidelberg Windmill Letter Press, and limited to 26 signed and lettered copies. The pages and cover and beautiful marbled endpapers will then be mailed up to Rhonda Miller in Halifax, Nova Scotia to be string-bound by hand. The final product should hopefully be completed by early June.
The Rhythm of Desire & Resistance, by Robert Gibbons, is a book of twelve prose poems that will be published in time for Robert’s reading at the Massachusetts Poetry Festival in Salem, MA on May 13th. This edition is limited to 50 copies, 26 of which will be lettered and signed by the author. A very exciting note regarding this book is that Robert received rights from the Artist’s Rights Society (New York/Paris) and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) to use Marc Chagall’s “Les Amants au ciel rouge (Lovers in the Red Sky)” on the cover of the book! It’s a beautiful painting that is mentioned in one of the poems in the book and very fitting for the Spirit of the Book.
So please don’t think we’ve abandoned hope or forgotten about you or ourselves. We certainly have not! And now that the bookstore will be passing away, I hope to spend most of my time working to publish fine writing and artwork in fine editions and ephemera much more often!
